ALL ABOUT EATS

Yes, we were pre warned by previous tourists to avoid salads, uncooked foods, and even water and ice in Myanmar. We see all the locals eating on street walks and drinking even from the same cup but they have no problem....
So I guess it must be our pampered and unaccustomed tummy . I would like to try those delicious looking street foods but ..... better not.

As much as we tried, each one of us had a fair share of the runs by the end of the trip ! Luckily, it is not serious and we could still continue with our touring and sight seeing in Bagan.
Loaded with Immodium and Ulphamol. Hahahaha.

The fruits looked so delicious, we couldnt resist the street walk fruit stalls and got some orange colored melons, grapes  and local pineapples, which were super sweet and tasty.

Avocadoes were everywhere..... creamy and tasty. Ended up buying 12 huge and medium sized ones and carried back home to Malaysia !

Their Myanmar local food in local restaurants, as they call it, is more like a semi buffet style.
You can order 1 or more meat dish ( but be careful not to over order ) bcos your 1 or 2 meat orders comes with the rest of the 8 or 10 condiments !

So your table look like a feast !

the first meal in Myanmar . after check in we walked out in search of food and the nearest is this KAIN KYI, a chinese restaurant

The typical Myanmar restaurant food . Highly rated in the internet is Aye Myit Tar restaurant

note the happy faces.. this picture was taken before the meal was consumed.
EVERYTHING YOU CAN EAT. YOU JUST ORDER THE MEAT DISH AND FOLLOWED BY MANY MANY CONDIMENTS....

After a hearty meal at Aye Mit Tar, the restaurant is so helpful and even called a  GRAB tuktuk for us to get back to our hotel.
This was how we met out Obe 2, the Grab tuktuk. On the ride back to hotel, we found that he could offer us a half or whole day tuktuk service to anywhere we like to go. And we realised that he is very honest and sincere. For whole day he charged us 30000 kyat.... US30.
Obe 2 , GRAB Tuktuk driver
The next day , Tuk Tuk man named Obe 2, took us to the real local cafe or coffee shop. SHWE PYI MOE Cafe . The local tea is very good and we had the noodles and rice dishes.

in Bagan ,  along the 4th street , we went into a nice looking cosy cafe named Black Bamboo. Unfortunately the decor and ambience outdo the food.

At SANON TRAINING SCHOOL RESTAURANT, the food and ambience is recommendable.

The AVOCADO and PINEAPPLE JUICES are fantastic... all over Myanmar  !

Bagan 1st night dinner we strolled into a local restaurant....Vendo Restaurant.
Myanmar buffet and a PIZZA for Pat. .

And again in Bagan, we had another Myanmar buffet. For 5000kyat per head, you are surrounded by food and food and food...
2nd night in Bagan, we chance across a fully packed and in fact there is a que at the entrance to WEATHER SPOON. Very good. Highly recommended . The burger is delicious and the papadom is amazing !!! A MUST TRY .
